Kesälomatunnelmissa / Summer Holiday Feelings

Summer skies
Kesäloma on edennyt jo yli puolivälin.

Holiday feelings
Our summer holiday has already reached it's half-way-point. Time flies when you're having fun! We started the holiday by visiting my in-laws in Piikkiö. We also took part in Jokilaivaturnee 2016 where you all of the river boat restaurants in Turku. Quite a job, but someone has to do it! It was great fun!

When our holiday really started, we flew to Berlin to visit this city we had heard so many great things about. The weather was very variable, the first two days were balmy and on the third we got so wet we had to head down to shop for new shoes! Berlin was a great city, one which I could imagine heading to for a long weekend with friends. We also did quite a lot of sightseeing. Our favorites were the river cruise and the Berlin Wall Memorial. Our hotel, Indigo Berlin Alexanderplatz, was delightful and the situation close to Alexanderplatz and the TV tower was great! I can recommend it!

Berlin
After the trip to Berlin we went to the cottage to unwind and relax. This mainly means swimming and enjoying the wood burning sauna. We also did a little hike at Repovesi Natural Park. After the time at the cottage I took part in the Tampere Flamenco week with my lovely dance friends, teacher and musicians. We had quite an exciting time finishing the piece in one practice considering that we had a guitarist change and the choreography was changed a bit as well. Of course we had practiced in smaller groups and in various cottage environments but the final work was done in one go.

Yesterday was the day of action at Tampere in a very summery and sweaty environment. Our group danced the solea por bulerias por tangos choreography that we performed at the Spring recital in May as the last number of  the second show. The long day and balmy weather had raised our pulses so that we hiked up the tempo to such that even the teacher was a bit shocked. Still our performance was great and we were awarded with incredible cheers. To be honest, I had not even noticed that the tempo would have been faster than usual... :D It was such fun from start to finish!
